What changed

January 6, 2026: a new outline

PTCB moved the PTCE to content outline v1.4. The four domains and their weights are fixed: Medications 35%, Federal Requirements 18.75%, Patient Safety and Quality Assurance 23.75%, Order Entry and Processing 22.5%. Eight of the 22 knowledge statements are explicitly calculation-based.

Most free question sets online still follow the older structure. Every question here is tagged to a 2026 knowledge area, so your score breakdown maps to the exam you will actually sit.
